What Is Creative Digital Marketing?

Without creativity in digital marketing, there would be no viral posts, no outside-of-the-box social media campaigns, and no real appeal to consumers. It’s the spark that can cause a wildfire of popularity and set your marketing campaign ablaze.

On some level, business is all about standing out. If the consumer cannot distinguish your company from your competitors, then why would they spend their money on your products?

There are countless examples of brands that have captivated a wide audience through genius marketing. For example, we all know that a white tick on a black background is synonymous with sportswear brand Nike and the slogan ‘Just do it.’ That’s not a coincidence, either. It’s the result of brilliant, creative digital marketing.

These days, it isn’t uncommon to see digital marketing in the form of witty social media posts and responses. It’s seemingly become a new form of entertainment to watch how brands respond to customer complaints on social media platforms and how they roast their competition in 280 characters or less.

Sometimes ad campaigns are taken so far in the creative direction that you don’t even know what brand is behind it until their logo pops up at the end. The main takeaway is that if you want to connect with consumers and get them to invest — emotionally and financially — in your business, you have to mix up your digital marketing approach.

If you want your brand to stand out, here are some areas you can focus on to develop a creative digital marketing strategy:

Brand identity

Your messaging is tied up in your brand identity. When customers visit your website, will they find themes and content that match your digital marketing campaigns?

You need congruence between who you are and what you put out, as this can help you build a solid foundation and foster customer loyalty.

Content strategy

Marketing isn’t all about striking visuals and sounds. The content you put out day after day can earn you followers and help strengthen your brand image.

Infuse your content with storytelling elements and a personal touch, and you’re much more likely to strike a chord with your core audience.

Social media

Social media can make or break your business. While a single post can go viral and launch you into the stratosphere, a bad customer review that does the rounds can plummet your reputation.

Use data insights to inform your social media posts and maintain your online reputation by responding to customers and acting on feedback.
