Wrike Announces New Partnership with Unito and a Two-way Synchronization with JIRA

August 16, 2016

Wrike, the work management platform for high-performance teams, announced today a partnership with synchronization developer Unito that allows Wrike tasks and projects to stay synced with issues in JIRA. The new JIRA and Wrike synchronization allows cross-functional teams to discuss work, share statuses, and update shared dashboards without having to login to multiple tools to post new information.

JIRA is a work tracking solution used heavily by engineering, software development, and QA teams. In a typical synchronization scenario with Wrike, a project leader may enter a product request or bug as a task in Wrike and assign it to a developer. That action will create an issue in JIRA with the same name, and as the developer updates or closes the issue using the tools in JIRA, those updates would be visible instantly to the users in Wrike.

"Wrike's goal is to connect organizations to create seamless workflows across teams, no matter what type of work they do," says Andre Hill, Vice President of Solutions and Strategy for Wrike. "This two-way synchronization between Wrike and JIRA goes a long way in reducing rework and creating new levels of visibility for our users."

The synchronization helps users with reporting and scheduling by creating consolidated timelines and dashboards that contain both Wrike and JIRA information. The Wrike tasks remain synced with the JIRA issue and the synced fields continue to automatically update. With the two-way sync, the business users can now send developers feedback via Wrike and developers can respond to those requests without leaving JIRA.

WiGroup is a mobile transaction solutions provider, and user of the new Wrike and JIRA two-way sync. Using the tool, they were able to cut down update meetings and also better monitor the capacity of their development teams. "Connecting our business users and developers has been a huge boost in the organization," said Henk Brand WiGroup's Manager of Solutions & Design. "We have significantly reduced the amount of time spent in project meetings that were held to share updates and understand the capacity of each team member. The sync between Wrike and JIRA delivers that information to us in real time."

The Wrike and JIRA two-way sync is now available to Wrike customers and trial users, and is available at https://unito.io/sync/jira/wrike/
