What Is Scope Management?
Project scope is typically established early on in the project lifecycle. It confirms the details of the work that will (and will not) be completed as a part of an initiative. Scope management is the important duty of setting, road mapping, and managing the deliverable for this project.
According to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), the project scope management processes are:
- Plan scope management
- Collect requirements
- Define scope
- Create WBS (Work breakdown structure)
- Validate scope
- Control scope
These processes ensure that there is a pathway in place to deliver exactly what has been established as the parameters for project success.
