Here at Wrike, AI is nothing new. We’ve been pioneering the use of machine learning in work management ever since the company was first founded almost 20 years ago. That means we don’t just keep up with the latest in artificial intelligence — we set the pace.
It also means we’re constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, delivering a steady stream of new features designed to make work flow faster, better, and more efficiently. We’re excited to showcase the latest additions to our industry-leading AI suite. Read on for a full summary, or check out our features page below.
AI agents
Every team member has one task they hate doing. It could be sorting through the intake queue, compiling reports, or scanning projects for risk flags. We get it, which is why we’ve introduced AI agents.
Agents can automatically complete time-zapping activities, instantly jumping on any task and completing it in seconds, rather than minutes or even hours.
Custom agents
You can build your own agent from scratch using natural language, the type you’d use with a real colleague. You have two options here:
- Our classic manual builder, which offers a bit more control in your setup
- Our recently launched conversational agent builder, which gets you up and running quicker

Prebuilt agents
If you want to get started a little faster, you can use one of our preconfigured versions, such as:
- Intake: This agent checks new requests and prompts owners for missing information
- Triage: This agent instantly routes incoming requests to the appropriate person or team
- Risk: This agent scans project data and automatically alerts project managers to risks

MCP Server
Last year, we introduced you to Wrike MCP Server, which connects third-party AI agents directly to Wrike data. Now, we’ve just launched MCP v2, a speedier version that offers unified search, bulk actions, more tools, and lighter navigation.
It’s powered by Model Context Protocol, an open standard for data sharing between LLMs and enterprise systems of record. MCP eliminates the need for excessive exports and tabs, linking your Wrike project and task insights to the AI assistants you already use.
Work intake
The latest addition to our MCP Server functionality is work intake. You no longer need to create items manually or navigate request forms — simply use the AI assistant to add your raw input directly, and it will take care of the project setup in Wrike.

Marketplace availability
Wrike is now available as a connector in Anthropic’s Claude and Google Gemini, as well as an app in OpenAI’s ChatGPT. This means Wrike users can bring live work context from the platform into these leading AI assistants, and turn the AI outputs into Wrike tasks without building custom integrations. This is made possible by MCP Server, which uses OAuth-based access to let the likes of Claude securely read from and write to Wrike — all without compromising enterprise permissions, audit trails, and governance controls.
Admin and governance
We know that the rapid rise of AI features has given some people concern over security, and for good reason. That’s why we dedicated some time to improving our admin and governance features over the summer, and recently announced more granular AI permissions in user types as well as expanded AI agent visibility for administrators.
This is in line with our commitment to the three Cs:
- Context: Give AI the correct business context to deliver outputs.
- Control: Ensure AI operates within clear governance controls and app permissions, with regular oversight.
- Collaboration: Keep humans in the loop, especially for larger decisions.

AI-powered highlights
Our AI-powered highlights widget helps sort insights from information, decisions from data, facts from fluff.
Powered by an enhanced language model, this widget instantly surfaces the most important insights, trends, and risks from your dashboards — eliminating the need for time-consuming analysis. Key abilities include:
- Summarizing dashboard content: Stop poring over charts and tables — this widget can deliver a concise, coherent summary of your dashboard’s key data.

AI widget generator
Creating the perfect dashboard widget used to mean navigating complex menus and configurations, amounting to hours of work. With Wrike’s AI widget generator, that process has been reduced to seconds.
You just tell Wrike what you need (in natural language, like you use in everyday conversations) and let our AI do the heavy lifting. Our generator will bring data to life the way you want it to, making valuable visualization truly effortless.
Here’s how to use the AI widget generator:
- Describe what you need: Type out what you want to see in normal language (no technical jargon required).
- Watch as AI works: Our generator transforms your words into a widget that might include bar graphs, KPIs, and pivot tables.
- Adapt your visualization: Fine-tune your metrics and apply filters (such as dates, statuses, assignees, or authors) to make your new widget work for you.

Simply describe your workflow goals — in your own words — and our system will generate tailored automation recipes. You can edit the conditions and properties as needed, and let our workflow intelligence handle the rest.

Mobile inbox prioritization
Mobile inbox prioritization uses AI to analyze and prioritize your emails, sending urgent messages to the top of your inbox every morning. It also delivers smart digest summaries, so you can get caught up quickly, and offers quick actions, so you can fly through your responses faster.Based on user queries, we added:
- Archiving options to declutter your inbox without losing valuable information
- Clearer read/unread states so you can see at a glance what needs to be addressed
- A new “Other” section for notifications that don’t fall into “Urgent” or “Important” categories
We also tweaked each section so the overall look of the mobile inbox is more attractive and easy to understand. These AI-powered features are currently only available for Wrike Mobile, but we’ll update you if that changes. In the meantime, keep your feedback coming — we’re all ears!
Suggested replies
Our “Suggested Replies” feature offers three relevant, ready-to-send responses that make catching up a dream.
Currently only available on Wrike Mobile (Android and iOS), our AI can analyze the content of your task/project and its comments and suggest three tailored response options for you to use. For example, if you’re working on a task named “[Bug] Email Notifications Contact Issue,” AI will prompt you to respond with potential replies such as “I’ll document the incident for ISO audit and share the log shortly.”
All you have to do is tap on whichever option fits best to keep comms flowing and projects moving.
