Tasks

A task is the smallest actionable item in Wrike and the basic element that you need to start building your project. Wrike’s flexibility allows you to group tasks in various ways and organize them in folders to form a detailed project plan.

A task in Wrike can be used to represent many different items - for instance, ideas, features, schedule items, meetings, etc. Then you can share them with your colleagues, contractors and partners.

When you click on a folder, the list of tasks that it contains is shown in the middle pane of your workspace. You can see brief details of each task:

  • task title,
  • the beginning of its description,
  • the name of the folder (or folders) it's included in,
  • the avatar of the person who created it,
  • the avatar of the person to whom it's assigned and the number of assignees,
  • the due date, and
  • the duration.

You also can see appropriate icons that indicate whether:

  • there are files attached to the task
  • the task has high importance
  • the task is set as a recurrent one

To create a task, click on the "+" ("Create new task") button on the top of the workspace 1 or press "T" on your keyboard. The new task opens in the right-hand pane of your workspace 2 . Read more about creating and managing tasks.
