Set the task's status
To set the task's status, choose active, deferred, cancelled or completed from the drop-down menu as shown below:

The “deferred” status can be useful when you want to put a task on hold. Deferred tasks do not show up in the overdue section of the To-Do emails and in the widgets with overdue tasks in the Dashboard. However, unlike backlogged tasks that are perfect for keeping track of someday/maybe items, deferred tasks can have start and due dates. Thanks to this peculiarity, they are handy when you need to create a template folder.
