Import from XLS format

Data import can be used to support templates in Wrike. You can export a template project into an Excel file and import it later as a new project. To import an absolutely new project:

  1. Create a new Microsoft Office Excel 97-2003 file on your computer.
  2. In the first row of that file, type the headers of your columns: title, status, priority, assigned to, start date, duration, end date, depends on, start date constraint, and description 1 . All headers are required.
  3. If you need to create a new folder and/or subfolders, you need to indicate that in your file. Simply add a row with the path to your new folder 2 .
  4. If necessary, you can include a task in several folders by typing the task title under several folder titles. The key should stay the same for such task 3 .  After the import process, you will be asked to associate users from your contact book in Wrike with the names found in the imported file.
  5. Fill in details to better describe your tasks as much as necessary. Also, please make sure that there are no formulas in your Excel file.
  6. If you want to set dependencies between tasks, enter the keys of the predecessor tasks in the "Depends on" column. Keys are listed in the first row.
Note that when you create dependencies between tasks, the tasks are automatically rescheduled to start one after another. If you would like to keep the start and due dates you entered, can indicate start date constraints for each task in the “Start Date Constraint” column.
