Create a project template

If some of your projects are alike, then project templates can save you a lot of time.

Templates can be created in two ways:

  1. You can export a standard project to Excel and import it later as a new project. Alternatively, you can download a sample project template, adjust it to your needs, and import it to your Wrike workspace.
    2. You can keep a sample project in Wrike as a template and duplicate it every time you need the working project at hand.

If you have a template that you previously created in Microsoft Project, you can easily import it to Wrike. If you have tasks that repeat from time to time, take a look at how to create recurring tasks in Wrike.

Tip: Deferred tasks are quite handy when you need to create a template folder. They do not show up in the overdue section of the To-Do emails and in the widgets with overdue tasks, but can have start and due dates. In this case, users in your account are not bothered with template tasks in their to-do lists, while it’s easy for you to duplicate the folder and tasks with the dates.
Whenever you want to make the template tasks active again, you can edit them all together at once: select all the tasks you need, click on “Mark as completed” in the mass actions sidebar, select them again and then mark them as active.
