Attach a file to a task

At Wrike, you can attach any kind of file to folders and tasks, so that everyone on the team has access to the latest version of the specifications, agreements, brochures, logos, etc.

  1. In the Chrome, Firefox and Safari browsers, as well as in Internet Explorer with the Chrome framework, you can simply select the files on your computer and drag-and-drop them onto the green area that appears at the bottom of the file panel 1 . Once the files are uploaded, they appear below the description and become available to the team members who are shared on this task.
  2. Alternatively, click on the "Attach files" link in the task detail 2 and browse for files on your computer.

Collaborative editing

When you work on a document with your colleagues, everyone can contribute by uploading a new version. You can also edit the existing Microsoft Office or OpenOffice document without downloading it to a computer.

Version control

To upload a new version from your computer, expand the file panel 3 and hover the cursor over the attached file to see the "New version" link 4 . After you finish uploading, Wrike automatically renames the file to follow the original file’s name and avoid confusion.

You can view all the previous versions of a file by pressing the small arrow to the left of the file name 5 . To open one of the versions, click on its name in the list.

You can delete the file by pressing the "Recycle Bin" icon.
